Good Afternoon,

When I purchased my 1987 Syncro (Wolfsram Grey Metallic) all windows, excluding the windshield, were darkly tinted. After awhile living with the tinting, I decided I liked it well enough that we have tinted all of our other cars. Yes, there is a degradation of rear visibility when backing at night in unlit environments. We use the outside mirrors, sometimes with window down, when it's an issue.

I like the dark tinted windows for several reasons: 1) Sunlight coming into the side windows is significantly less intense when driving. 2) It is very difficult to see anything in the interior. May reduce thefts when traveling. 3) A/C is much more effective, even in the Syncro. 4) Ultraviolet damage to interior fabrics and plastics is significantly reduced.

I'm in Colorado which has very intense sunlight due to altitude. Dark tinting is not uncommon here, and not limited to pimpmobiles. I have seen a lot of very poor tinting jobs, and although I take great pride in being able to conquer almost any automotive problem, tinting is something I leave to the professionals.

Best Regards, Jon B Kanas
