Hi Jon, Have you looked into Megasquirt? Why re-invent the wheel? And why stop with dropping the AFM? MS replaces the AFM and a whole lot of other expensive and hard-to- get components on the FI system. When converting from an aircooled (L- jetronic) FI you do without the double relay, cold start injector, thermo time switch, aux air regulator (now NLA) and a whole raft of vacuum lines and electrical connections. OTOH, you have to fabricate your own wiring harness and if it malfunctions you are going to be doing your own analysis. But in the long run, I see megasquirt as a viable alternative to using "consumable" components like the AFM.
