Chris,
Bad advice. It is against the law to sell a complete vehicle that was
imported as parts. It is also illegal to register a "parts car" in the USA
without performing a DOT and EPA certification. These are not opinions,
just facts.
Cheers,
Jeff

raymond, i was being facetious.. :<) (notice the smiley face)
most of us know that most of the dokas vic has are european market vehicles,
there are no US titles for them.. nothing illegal about that - as long as he
sells them as a "parts car" like he brought them into the country as, and
the
buyer understands that.. your on your own as to getting them legal..
there
are ways you can do it if you have the time, smarts or money.
there is an outfit out here in MD called NGP (New german Performance)
and they routinely bring in european market vehicles.. at Waterfest this
summer that had a mk3 Jetta wagon for sale..something that was never sold in
North america. it was being sold as "parts" even though it was complete,
minus
the motor (they had to remove the motor so it was considered a "part"
instead
of a running vehicle. they also had some Mk3 Golf Syncro's for sale
(another
car that was never sold in north america) - with no motors..
remember people - vehicles over 25 yrs old can be legally imported into this
country with relative ease. so being almost 2007, that means you can bring
in
a '80-'82 european doka without having to go thru all the customs BS..
just think, importing that rare '86 syncro 16" from europe will be a piece
of
cake in 4 yrs! so just sit tight and wait :<)
