folks, i found a suitable quality replacement for the one-time use vanagon rear hatch panel fastner clips.. you know the ones that get destroyed when removing them from your GL or Carat 's rear hatch panel..

the ones i found are re-usable.. they have a phillips head, and you insert the clip into the hole, screw the plastic phillips screw in, and it splays out the clip so it holds the panel snug.

you can get these are your local NAPA auto parts store, or any other FLAPS.

they are NAPA part number 665-2417 made for NAPA by Balkamp. they're called "retainer clips" black plastic, attractive "pebble" finish mimics the factory clips. $5 bucks for a pack of 15.

easy to install and remove.
