Initially I went the route of adding the relays and purchasing the xenon bulbs from the FLAPS, but didn't notice a great overall change. At this point I then purchased the high wattage bulbs from one of our VW suppliers online here. That change has made a greater improvement. However, I may still at some point try the European lens option if I can break loose the $$$s. Route 66 Rider! I tried replacing the high/low beam bulbs with xenon blue bulbs. This changes the light from yellow to white but does not help visibility much. My next step is to install the relays and higher power bulbs. However, the glass lenses are very fogged and I think this may be contributing to the problem - Could this be dirt and if so, any suggestions on how to get inside the units to clean them? Thanks, Mike, '87 Westy P.S. for those of you with 80-85 round headlight models, here is what I did for my old '85 Westy; - Replaced the 7" sealed units with 'Sylvania Halogen Performance Plus' units (~$25 each from Kragen's). These are standard wattage, but have the 'whiter' light and better lenses. These improved the situation enormously, I decided that this was enough without installing relays/higher power bulbs
