Does anyone know how to remove the speedometer/odometer assembly from its plastic housing? I've got the needle and faceplate removed, and I can see that there are three screws fixing the metal speedometer part to the black plastic housing, but it appears there is no way to get at two of them without removing the whole clear plastic odometer assembly. I've removed the four screws holding the clear plastic assembly to the black plastic housing, and it seems like the only thing holding it in place is the gold spiral spring on the speedometer shaft. That doesn't look like something I should try to remove. Any ideas? Thanks, Doug Fitz-Randolph Freeport, ME |
