Subject: Re: BA 6 Heater Booster - text

Like I say,the tank needs to be dropped. Several reasons why. First, the bundle of wiring in the harness is zip tied to the main harness in several places. Access is poor.Of course one could just YANK and YANK till the zip ties gives way.Number two reason the tank needs to be removed. The rear floor vent is attached directly over the gas tank.removing this vent requires the tank to be dropped. Two #2 phillips head screws attach this vent from underneith the floor. Also the parking brake cable and shift linkage needs to be disconnected, most likely, to manuver the vent ,out.A large diameter hose is attached between the vent and front heater. The rusty hose clamps need to be removed to take this hose out and preserve it. Both were in good condition of the two BA6 units I removed. They can be reused. Need to get all the parts , and removing the tank is necessary. No big deal here .This is an oportunity.A good time to reseal the gas tank and add fiberglass coolant tubes and powersteering lines( both avaliable in myebay store). Here comes an insatllment on the cover for the BA6.Look out!!!
