Hi Ryan,

That's a good link. Those guys are creative and very persistent. Fun to read, too.

Occaisionally I will reply to a 419 scammer and ask a few questions about how much $$ I can get and how soon they can turn it around. I don't usually go past a couple emails before I lose interest. I see this as a public service: While they're composing an email to me, it takes time away from scamming some un-knowing victim. People should try it, you might find it fun.

A few months ago they nailed a pair of Nigerians working out of a bungalo only a few miles from me: They aren't all overseas. A lot of them are phishing for personal details to enable identity theft these days, rather than straight-up fraud.

You gotta watch what you're doing online these days, no question. But there are plenty of genuinely nice people to be met on the internet as well.
