Actually, the are some option with USPS to get some types of international tracking and/or confirmation. But, I ship quite a few things to Europe *without* confirmation. I offer insurance to the buyer, but it's rarely used.

All in all, I have had good luck with USPS internation air letter (up to 4 lbs). For heavier things, I use standard international surface, with no problems.

For a level of tracking, you can use Global Priority Mail (up to 4 Lbs).

I have not used overpriced UPS for years. USPS is the way to go. And, I can ship without waiting in line at the post office by using Endicia.com. Recommended.
