Just some helpful SW tips... Don't stop in Albuquerque. You might never leave after tasting the green chiles. Flagstaff is OK. Try not to hit Barstow at night. It's the ONLY reason Bakersfield isn't the armpit of California. Stay on 99, don't tempt fate with a trp over to I-5. That's a very fast nasty road. 152 is... an experience. Stop for lunch or dinner at the Casa de Fruita. Or even stay at the Casa de Motel.

In the east... 81 is a great road as long as it doesn't snow. You will go right by skyline drive in the Shenendoah Valley of VA, as well as being real close to Monticello, home of Tommy Jefferson. Further south is Kingsport Tenn., home of one of the largest polymer plants in the country. You'll know it by it's smell...

Now of course you have Knoxville and Nashville, I'spect you have those already scoped out.

I've heard the area north west of Little Rock is suppose to be beautiful but I never been there. OK City is next, stop and pay yer respects to those who died at the hands of Timothy McVey.

Swing north on I-25 to the north side of Albuquerque to see some of the large shops where there is smoe pretty nice Jade and silver Indian made jewelry. Rancho de Corrales use to be a pretty good restaurant. It's right next to Rio Rancho, home to a number of Intel fabs.

Lonely going from there till Flagstaff unless you go off the path a bit and find the cliff dwellings to the east of Flagstaff.

High desert.. I like it.

Take care, have a great trip.
