Sam, As it is Thanksgiving, I don't have too much time, so apologies for short message... Most of the Sierra passes are open currently (even Highway 4 was open yesterday, afterr being closed for a few days. If you decide to come through one of the passes, check the following (updated hourly); http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/Hourly There are storms forecast from Sunday onwards, which may close some of the passes for the winter (4, 120). The others (88, 50, 80) will be kept open. If you do take I-40, be sure to stop in Death Valley - it's amazing! Look forward to seeing you sometime soon in Palo Alto (where you will see Westy's in all neighbourhoods). I plan to travel west from the George Washington Bridge on I-80 to south on I-81 to west on I-40 to west on Rte 58 to north on Rte 99 to west on Rte 152 to north on I-101 to Palo Alto.
