Some how I know the feeling! Here I am in South Florida with the Syncro and my younger son Christopher. We are with relatives and wil be having Turkey shortly.

Last Friday, while driving home from a doctor’s visit, the Fun Bus turned 240,000 miles. I gave it a set of plugs, changed the oil and filter, and adjusted the belts and replaced the thermostat for the add on oil cooler. The oil temperature has been higher than normal for while and I was blaming it on the original radiator or a tired engine which is also original. Diagnoses the infrared thermometer showed the stat was not opening to divert the oil to the cooler so. Luckily I had a spare so in it went.

I have driven it almost 2,000 miles since leaving New York. Oil temp is staying around 180-200 even during the 75+ mph runs which are common south of the Border. Made it all the way to Key West, Working my way back up, now in Coral Springs and will be heading to Sebastian or Orlando tomorrow. Saturday, I will be heading for home. I am still amazed at how well this thing travels. Fuel economy is pitiful but at least it still runs, original head gaskets and all.

Happy Thanksgiving! For us and our vans,

Dennis
