It sounds like he's talking about the rubber boot between the metering unit
and the intake plenum. I had to replace mine, and was able to find one in
the local bone yard. I would personally look to find a good replacement
rather than repair, because there are a couple of major vacuum fittings here
and if anything leaks it'll mess with your mixture. An air leak between the
filter and the metering unit is less critical.
