Hi there, Coincidence! If I'm not mistaken, you're the guy who moved in across the street from me about two months ago. Price, Colorado plates, etc. all match. It's a nice van. I say, keep it. Every time you sell a car and buy another, you end up paying around 10% of the value in misc. fees, such as smog, taxes, to say nothing of doing the inevitable minor repairs on the next vehicle. If you like it, hang in there. I'm about to replace the cat, muffler etc. on my '84 with parts from an online vendor, and it's costing around $200. I'd be glad to help you do the same. Just p-mail and let me know. If you do decide to sell it, cosmetic things help--wash and wax, black on the trim, tire shiner, complete interior clean. Also, there are a ton of Westies on the local Craigslist, which probably pushes the prices down. Those selling for more than around $8K seem to sit there for a few months. I bought my '84 for $1950 a year ago on CL. Keep! Let me know and we'll have that muffler on in a jiffy! Geza |
