Subject: Westy faucet question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

About three years ago, when I began camping in my westy, I bought a new replacement water faucet from GoWesty.

All was fine until my first campouts this fall, when I discovered that the "city water" valve doesn't distribute any water. The knob action has a rubbery, ineffective feel to it though it works fine on the onboard pump side.

Since most of our camping is "self contained," we hardly ever use the "city water" side of the faucet. I want the city water for times when I don't want to carry 100 extra pounds in the tank.

There's probably not 45 minutes of total operation on the city water side of the valve. Should I not expect better performance than this? Is this a problem with a known solution?

I gave my old faucet away to a list member long ago, so I don't even have one to look at without removing the one in my camper.

Jim
