Are halfway ACE's allowed to comment? :P

This is what I've done on locking differentials to see how much slip
they allowed before locking:  Turn the input shaft and hold one output
shaft (to simulate one wheel in sand, other wheel on pavement
condition) and note how long it takes for the held output shaft to
want to move.

I would assume the same could be done with a VC.  Hold the case
stationary and turn one of the shafts and note when the other shaft
starts spinning. (use a drill to simulate higher speeds).
