Mine is under the bench seat on the passenger side. Since the OEM heater was removed, I made a cover panel for the existing rectangular where the old heater vent was and mounted the 2 Propex vents on that panel. One vent is connected to the hot air outlet and the other lets cold air into the space where the heater intake is located. I made a vented cover out of thin plywood that protects the heater from heavy objects. It also lets air circulate around the heater and into the inlet. The only holes I drilled go thru the floor to accomedate the intake, exhaust and LP.

In hindsight, I wonder if it would be possible to mount the heater under the van in some kind of weather proof box. I'm not sure where the air ducts would go, but no drilling needed for anything else but the thermostat wire. It would be much less noisy and allow more room. Any thoughts, volks?
