Subject: HELP: in Kamloops and need some help
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hello Anybody,

I am driving my 86 Westy for the first time in the cold of winter and a few things happened today that I need help with:

1. The headlight switch is going flakey, a few times today I had to hold it in a certain position to make it work. I have the Go Westy external relays installed and they have worked correctly for about a months. For now I will not drive at night, but do you think its the headlight switch or a faulty installation of the kit? This problem appears intermittent.

2. No start on a -22 celcius morning. I turned the key to the on position I heard the fuel pump start and stop (this I believe is normal). Turning the key to the start position the fuel pump started again and no starter...no click, no nothing. Did this about 10-15 times then the starter turned over VERY slowly and the engine caught and started. The starter is normally very fast and the start very quick...did this at -5 a few times with no problem. When the engine is warm this does not occur. I have experienced a 1/2 second pause on some cold mornings between turning the key and the starter turning over. Any idea what this is?

3. Passenger side rear there is a clicking typically under acceleration or constant velocity. I suspect the CV, inspection of the boots shows no rips or anything. I can't do anything about this right now (until I get to Vancouver about 400 kilometers away). If this is the CV, will it last that long? And who do I go to in Vancouver to get this fixed fast? I will be in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and Surrey. In that order, Maple Ridge is tomorrow and Surry is on Monday. I am only in Vancouver for a short time and then returning to Calgary.

Thanks for any help/info you can give,

Gregor
