RE: Sighting Vanagon and Buses Try North end of Seattle. You can't drive a block without seeing at least one Bus or Vanagon, mostly camper versions of one sort or another. The only place I've ever seen such a density is in Santa Cruz. In Seattle the VW dealer in Ballard sold more Westfalia campers than any other VW dealer in North America. That accounts for the high density in the area. Now, was that good marketing on the VW dealers part, or were they just lucky and happened to be in the best market for the Westy? Chicken and egg problem.... BTW, I don't recommend that dealer for service. That's Carter VW in Ballard. If you want to go to a dealer shop drive a few miles north to Campbell Nelson. |
