Slip on your socks, slip on your bread bags, slip feet with bread bags into shoes. Voila! no cold feet. Bread bags trap the foot moisture, it can't get past the bag and soak your shoe. So there is no path for heat loss. Your feet will stay warm. Works extremely well if you have on an insulated shoe/boot or are wearing shoe-pacs or Sorrel Boots in winter with felt liners. Or for that matter high-top moosehide moccasins. Use to wear'em in my muk-luk's back in the 70's and 80's in my travels all over Alaska. Never had cold feet. Some times it looked like I had trench foot, if I didn't change the socks twice a day, but otherwise, it really worked. I would consider the bags winter safety gear in norther climes.
