Subject: Winterizing with marvel mystery oil
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Another camping season is over for us and I put our '84 westy away for the winter this week.

I have been winterizing the motor with MMO for the last couple of years as suggested by Stan Wilder. This year I asked my wife to turn the engine off after I had poured some MMO down the big rubber intake boot so that the MMO would not burn off too much. Well when I asked her to shut it down the motor kept running...I could not hear her because my head was in the engine so I asked three or four more times to turn the engine off, louder and louder. I finally understood that she had turned it off after my first request...but I think she understood that I could not hear her replies...good thing it was dark out as there was little body language that either one of us could interpret... ;)

So was my engine running with the ignition off due to the heat left in the cylinders vaporizing the MMO and then compressing the MMO gas and self igniting?
