Joel,

Thanks for your positing.

Here is what I have discovered so far today in my research, and seems to be in line with what you posted.

So, which is the best, or will they all do the trick, since the Phosphates and high-PH seem to be the most important factors for our motors. Sierra is Phosphate free but the PH is higher at 10.5-10.8, which is more acidic - So I think I will dump the Sierra this summer.

$25/Gallon - Pentosin (PH 7.5) anti-phosphate hi-performance antifreeze seems to do the trick, as the PH is lower than Sierra and is also Phosphate Free. However it is very expensive, and I think it is still a good idea to flush and fill every so often (as it can show if you have fluid transfer, or other problems)

$12/Gallon - PrestoneR (PH is 8.7-9.2) Extended Life 5/150 Antifreeze/Coolant is recommended and formulated for use in all GM vehicles that require a GM DEX-COOLR approved formula coolant, as well as all other cars and light-duty trucks with aluminum radiators. This patented formula has a concentrated blend of premium, long-lasting inhibitors for extended performance, protecting against temperature extremes and the ravages of rust and corrosion for 5 years or 150,000 miles. PrestoneR Extended Life has been proven in the laboratory to be compatible with all new extended life formulas at concentrations typically used in all newer vehicles coming off the production line today. These automobile manufacturers include:

Audi - General Motors - Suzuki BMW - Honda - Toyota Daewoo - Mercedes - Volvo DaimlerChrysler - Mitsubishi - VW - Ford

Tip: If you decide to replace your existing antifreeze/coolant with PrestoneR Extended Life 5/150 Antifreeze/Coolant, make sure you completely drain and flush the cooling system first in order to gain the full benefits of the longer-lasting formula. Also, if you are currently using Prestone Extended Life 5/150 Antifreeze/Coolant in your car's cooling system, and you add a conventional antifreeze/coolant, you will lose the extended protection.

&

$11/Gallon - Valvoline [Antifreeze] Zerex GO5; Gallon (PH 7.5-8.0) Zerex G-05 is a low-silicate, low-pH, phosphate-free, pre-charged formula that is designed to protect automotive and diesel engines from rust and corrosion. Zerex G05 is approved by Ford and by Daimler-Chrysler for worldwide applications including all MTU and Mercedes engines.

Approved by Ford and DaimlerChrysler for use in automotive and diesel engines. Utilizes hybrid organic acid technology to minimize inhibitor depletion Low-silicate, low-pH and phosphate-free formula Provides protection against liner pitting and corrosion Helps prevent rust and corrosion Helps prevent hot weather boil-overs and cold weather freeze-ups Protects all cooling system metals, including aluminum

Due to the differences in cooling systems, Valvoline recommends that you refer to your vehicle owner's manual for instructions on changing your antifreeze.
