Subject: Re: Which is the best coolant to use? Part II

One bad bit of advice here: "Put (the used coolant) outside in buckets to evaporate."

This stuff is highly toxic to all animals. It's said a teaspoon-full will kill a cat. Animals are attracted to antifreeze for its sweet smell and usually will drink a lot more than a teaspoon-full. Enough said.

There are several less-toxic brands made with propelene glycol rather than ethylene glycol. One is called "Sierra," as if the Sierra Club recommended it. They're still toxic, just less so.

Don't leave any of it sitting around uncovered. Kids and animals will like you better.
