As long as AAA's politics (whatever they may be) are not detrimental to the towing or services of my Westy, I will continue with AAA. In the past 9 years I have called AAA for towing four times with no problems or exclusions to report (Once in Oregon, once in Kansas and twice in Southern California). Because mine is an automatic, I had no problem getting "flatbed" service either. Can't beat the free maps, camping guides, dmv services, etc. I just renewed and I am ultra-happy with them.
