Back in 1999 I put a bus together for a trip to FLA in April 00, XZX rang a bell, and was OEM supplied until early 80s, so my dealer found 4 and I put them on..the trip was uneventful and thoroughly enjoyable...I'd do the Keys again in a NY minute, and likely will....

That summer as I cleaned the tires I noticed a little sidewall cracking, by the spring of 01 (less than 6,000 miles) the cracking was so bad I was concerned to drive the bus at all...the dealer was local, so I dropped in...because I didn't have the bill in hand (I had a rainy day break in, lost my tools and all the paperwork) he refused to warranty them...the bill came out of his computer, but he wouldn't look it up...last time I'll ever do business with Fred's tire in Orangeville Ont BTW...

Long story short I found out the tires I had purchased for full retail were date coded Feb '85, and that MX was the current bus tire at the time...that wasn't even offered as a possibility...Michelin HO was no help whatsoever...if you want to see pictures, contact me off list...

I was thinking of putting up a website warning people about the quality of this companies tires, but I'm starting to think they are all about the same...I only get about 25K miles out of Conties too, but I'm pretty much fully loaded most of the time (with stuff), so that may be my own fault....I should be looking for a D rated tire with a harder compound I guess, but I find the ride too harsh and noisy...

Just my $.02 CDN
