I'd use caution in mounting underneath the van, although it 'can be done': The Propex is not weather-tight in any sense, the printed circuit doesn't like moisture, so the box/enclosure would have to be air- and water-tight, and then you would also have TWO large holes through the floor, one for inlet [cold] air, one for heated air. My recommendation is to mount under the seats and just take less stuff, warmth matters more than more 'stuff' under the seat, right? :-) To address the reputed 'noise'--to the original poster, have you listened to a new Propex HS2000 yet? Noise is greatly reduced from the 1600 and 1800 models.
