Subject: Power mirror question #2
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I have two power mirrors that are dissasembled.I cannot get the little nut on the shaft where the spring is. Now matter how much I press on the nut,I cannot compress the spring and make the nut spin and catch on the shaft.. How did you do it? These have been sanded up and painted chassis black POR15 by spray gun. This is a satin finish, much like the door handles. Not bad. They came off an 88, and were a worn out strange green color. Loosing the clear coat , ect. About 3 people in the world would have wanted these green mirrors, this color and condition. The motors have been tested good, and the wiring harness , exists. The mirror inserts are typical, with the edges being tarnished. New mirror inserts can be installed to their holders, by a auto glass shop, for about $40 each(VW wants about $85 each). If someone wnats these, let me know. I can send pictures of them( In pieces). Thanks,

Roger
