I don't know if I've ever had the driver's side out, but my passenger side switch flange--the plastic area that keeps it in place in its cutout--was replaced years ago when it broke off from the main body of the switch. I just took a little saw to something else made of black plastic, about the same size and shape as the broken part, and epoxied it into place. That was about 12 years ago. Look and see if it will work on the driver's side.
