Folk, I am feeling kinda bad with all these messages. I started something, and now its bigger than I am. I slacked off last year because I found I was spending too much time worrying about the party, being the host and not enough looking at buses. But where there is a will there is a way. Now its pretty late, with only one weekend before Xmas, so one option would be to do it next Saturday, December 16 at 1PM. There are some pretty good parking/picnic areas in nearby Rock Creek Park, half way between my house and Derek's. I don't think permits are required, but if the cops run us off we can always head over to my place as a back up, its not much more than a mile away. Put this into Google maps search: beach dr nw and sherrill dr nw, washington DC On Saturday you can only approach this from the south on Beach Drive via Military Road, because all the other roads/directions are closed for cycling and the like. From Beach Drive and Sherrill head north until you come to the place where the road is gated, and turn right into a pretty decent sized parking lot. What do you think? Tom F.
