One of the first vans I test drove was a diesel. I don't know if it had the turbo, ( i knew little if nothing of all-things-vanagon at that point) but likely did as it seemed to have some "poop" to it. Even though it was a Westy, the guy wanted way too much for it. Like 15 K Cnd IIRC. So on my way to an AC. As for fingers, my first road trip was down inland through WA then out and down Oregon coast. Lack of power was a little scary on some onramps (and TOTALLY scary with wave-whitecapping-wind at bridge from Astoria to WA. F**k!) but no fingers that I saw whilst cruising with my AC 67 HP mill. I'm sure it'll happen someday though..... ;)
