You also can find the ULSD fuel at some Exxon outlets in MD, maybe others also. I bought a couple of tanks at one Exxon station on the route home from my son's school before my 85 Benz got rear ended and put out of commission.

I read an article, maybe off of a link posted here, indicating that the transition to this fuel was likely to take place long before the required date. The gist of the discussion was about it being too expensive to maintain two production and distribution systems and that the new fuel would be phased in for most stations and the most populous areas of the country quite soon.

A few brands or areas might not get earlier than the deadline, but most will. So, depending on where you live, some investigation and inquiry may show that you can get the ULSD fuel now or quite soon.
