BE CAREFUL! calculating the ET or "offset" is based on two measurements, not just one. The width of the rim at the bead, AND the distance from bead centerline to rim mating face!You need different offsets for different width wheels. A 5.5 width will differ from a 6.0 will differ from a 6.5...

As BenT has said, I think you can use up to 45 without problems. As Chris suggests, a 215/65-16 (the size I'm using) is a good sized tire for the 16" set up. It usually results in about a 27" diameter, which is about 1.3" over stock so it does "hit" your power/torque. Essentially changes the gearing at the road and this is noticeable on 90hp motors. i have 215-75-16 on my doka..and they dont rub.. but then its a '85 (highest ride height year for 2wd) and not a heavy westy...
