I think one resason for the demise of the Vanagon in
the USA is the terrible support from VW dealers. When
I first got my Vanagon, I mistakenly thought the VW
dealer would be my friend. Well I've had more than one
VW dealer refuse to perform required recall services
on my van. One even said the van would not fit on his
vehicle lift! It seems that even to the US VW dealer,
the Vanagon is regarded as an oddity to be shunned.
