Subject: Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator Vs Auto transmission
Comments: To: Greg Potts <greg@POTTSFAMILY.CA>

Rip off..... for you, 139$ OEM BOSCH. ( i also have MANY used and tested one, over 15)

White smoke, any fuel smell??? if not, coolant!

That said, have a fuel pressure test done Greg (THE RIGHT WAY, engine working and not working, it need to hold pressure)! Injectors go very wrong lately. vaccum advance with the auto tranny?????? i'm lost here my deer Greg.

Pressure should old overnight in a good FI system, even if 60% doesn't, but, regulator have a tendency, lately, to also break! yea, inside, the vaccum part break and fuel go's through that vaccum line going back in the air plenium and back into the cylinder, so, easy test:

-Unplug vaccum on the FPR, look for fuel? -next, prime the system (key ON position for a few time), key off, go in the back with a 7mm wrench, unscrew the blleding screw on the T juntion of the fuel line, slowly with a rag, you should feel plenty of pressure!!! if not, you have a leak, now where!!! the trick (always with NO equipement), remove the injector rail from the engine (that small 8mm screw), prime the system, look for a leaky injector, look carefully! do each side. prime the system if needed. to be sure it's the FPR, you now need a Fuel pressure tester.

I have 3 auto in the house as we speak and i don't see any relation with vaccum and tranny, your... (grrrr, i forgot the name), that part that decide when the trany shift, is not rlated to the vaccum at all... or me stupid!!!

Anyway, if Mr.Frank canno't help (i'm sure he will, well, is not that good but...:-), call me or e-mail me.

Cheers, Ben http://www.benplace.com/
