Seems like I have the exact same symptoms ("strange stalling problems often intermittent")...:-( The difference is that my van is an 1990 model which IIRC has a different idle stabilizer module, but thanks for the additional direction to check. Problem is that a new unit isn't available here. I still don't get why Bosch had to add another external circuit for this function instead of integrating it within the ECU. More complexity results in more failure possibilities...
