A drift is like a hole punch with a flat (not pointed) tip. If you look at the latch carefully, you will see what looks like a tiny hole on the edge. it goes from one side of the latch body to the other. inside there is a roll pin. It's a pin made of flat metal which is rolled into a shape of a pin. It's used to hold things such as the match and the adjustable armrests on Vanagon seats. Drifts look like this: http://www.carltsoe.dk/upload/301OE.jpg For roll pin info, check this site: http://www.engineersedge.com/roll_pin.htm BenT |
