I just can't do the "name" thing. I have a hard enough time remembering the
names of people I know (phone numbers are not a problem though), so naming
vehicles is nearly impossible. Usually, my many, many vans have been simply
called: the red bus, the white bus, the blue bus, etc. Certain vans will
get downgraded to the red turd, the white turd, the blue turd, etc. The
Tristar is called "The Tristar". The closest I've ever come to naming a
vehicle was nearly 30 years ago when I was riding a Honda XR500, that heavy
beast came to be know as "The Red Sled".
Viele Grüße,
Jeff

Thomas, I don't know if there is an official christening....my kids and I
just started referring to my van as Hidalgo after seeing the movie of the
same name....about the indefatigable, independent and intelligent wild
mustang horse, who could go anywhere and never quit! The name seems to fit.
Cheers, Anthony

somebody said that half the fun of owning these things is making them your
own. I have started this process by adding the swivel seat to the passenger
side. What I would like to do is add the shelf that runs over the sink and
stove in the full camper models. Does anybody have pictures of this shelf
that they could share? I’m looking for dimensions and how the track for the
curtains is located.
Also – it seems to me like you guys all have attachments to these things
that is only rivaled by old Harley riders – I have a ’71 Electroglide myself
so I understand – and I’m wondering if there is a process used for
christening your ride. I have seen vans and busses called Horst, Matilda,
Blue, Emma and other names and I’m curious.
Thanks
