Aka, its just for looks really, you cant actually use the center lights as driving lights unless your on the road by yourself?

Huh? Are high beams just for looks?

If you're alone on the highway, isn't that still "driving"?---so can't they be "driving lights". ;)

Does a Vanagon driving alone on the highway make any noise? ;)

I use the driving lights to suppliment the existing high beams, yes. And they definately offer more light. I suppose it depends on where you drive. If it's all urban driving you do, maybe driving lights aren't an option that makes sense.

But the extra light definately comes in handy on the long empty and unlit roads of say, Wyoming.

I suppose if it makes you more comfortable you could call them "auxiliary lights" instead of driving lights. But again, definately a functional addition.
