I have used Addco sway bars front and year on a couple of Vanagons I have owned with improved results, especially when using using quality shocks. Handling and body roll is definitely improved, but don't expect any sway bar combination to solve complete control in windy conditions - it does offer some control, but not completely - remember that you're essentially pushing a BRICK thru the airflow ;-). It's best to install both front and rear for the best control. Addco uses a 1 inch front and 7/8" rear. See their links:

http://www.addco.net/ OR http://www.addco.net/Toyota-Yugo_AntiSwaybars.htm#Volkswagen

I have also used Sway-A-Way's bars as well on the Type 1 and Type 2 thru 79, another excellent product. After checking their site, it appears they've dropped their Type 2 coverage, concentrating only on Type 1 & 3 models only.

I will be installing Addco on my Westy sometime this year, something that I've put off for far too long (it's called $$$$). -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 12/15/06, TC <trclark@shaw.ca> wrote: > > Well I have done kono front shocks, monroe rear coil-over sentracs with > some > spacers > ride is getting better so I was surfing around and came accross these > after > mkt anti-sway bars > > http://www.performancecenter.com/product/Lowering+Kits+%26+Handling/Anti-Swa > y+Bars/0/3/0/Volkswagen/1985/Vanagon > > Anybody tried this routeto get some better handing less body roll in > corner > & windy conditions ?? > you think adding rear anti sway bars would give you some added control > that > just does no exist stock ?? > > cooments ?
