Thomas, If the vehicle has a soul & you connect, he (or she) will to tell you their name. My hot rodded '74 penthouse/westy was a burnt orange color, & could magikly transform from a coach to a house so he was "The Pumpkin". the current '87 westy is all white & is "Ghost". I'm a Moto Guzzi motorcycle rider, my red&creme '98 EV1100 is "Lovely Rita, the Redhead" & my '74 Eldorado Police is "Strider". When I bought "Strider" I had an '84 SP1000 named "Shadowfax" & being a lifelong "Lord of the Rings" fan, Strider was a natural for the Eldo. Years ago I owned a silver Renault R16 sedan-wagon. He was "Spaceship". My '46 John Deere "A" was "Ole John" On the other hand, the 2000 Nissan Frontier in the driveway is just "the truck", the '86 Hardbody I owneed before this one was "the white truck". Go on a roadtrip, after a couple hours, when you're deep into roadsong, open your mind & Grok, your ride will talk to you. Ron Komoroski

I have an ’87 Syncro Weekender and I was reading posts yesterday and somebody said that half the fun of owning these things is making them your own. I have started this process by adding the swivel seat to the passenger side. What I would like to do is add the shelf that runs over the sink and stove in the full camper models. Does anybody have pictures of this shelf that they could share? I’m looking for dimensions and how the track for the curtains is located.

Also – it seems to me like you guys all have attachments to these things that is only rivaled by old Harley riders – I have a ’71 Electroglide myself so I understand – and I’m wondering if there is a process used for christening your ride. I have seen vans and busses called Horst, Matilda, Blue, Emma and other names and I’m curious.

Thanks
