Acrylic latex, Lime, talc and mica. The latex is the binder and presumably
the mica - being a relatively inert mineral -adds body. Both the Lime and
Talc would be readily ionised in H20, but in latex? Isn't it a long chain
hydrocarbon? Any chemists out there?
Don't see a magic formula hidden here. They claim that the material converts
vibration (kinetic energy) to heat. In other words it stretches. Sounds like
the latex is doing all the work, like painting latex rubber on a drum head.
Maybe the other stuff keeps it from peeling off.
At first glance it would seem like you could get the same effect with layers
of cheap latex paint mixed with an inert thickener. Like talc?
