I have an 88 GL and it leaks on both sides up front. It also leaks somewhere in the back on the right side. Every rain brings water inside. I have so far been unable to stop it.

I had to change out the windshield due to severe pitting. A glass shop did the job, dutifully cleaned the area for a new seal, installed the new beadless seal from one of our list vendors. I asked about sealant, and was told that properly installed, the seal wild not leak, that is why the thorough cleaning job. First rain after the new installation, the floor boards were wet near the and underneath the dash. The leaking continues with every rain. I have not been able to pinpoint the exact source of the water.

After every rain, the carpet and the bottom of the pad in the right rear is wet. I haven't been able to pinpoint that source of water either.

I guess I'm going to have to pull the glass and seals and try again. I hate that idea, because the windshield is at risk until the job is done -- and it may not stop the problem.

I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Regards,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
