81 Vespa P-250-e It was about 5 years old when I bought it, now I've had it and have been riding it 21 years!! I don't see many "dependable" Japanese scooters that old. I did start out with a Honda 70 after torturing myself with a AMF roadmaster moped in 1982. My first Vespa was a 59--I had it running good for 2 months before it broke a ring. That scooter was a conversation piece--not a driver. Then got a big HONDA 750 SS, was Ok, macho. The next year my dad told me about a scooter he saw for sale. It was the P200e, bought it next day with my student loan $. I quickly found out the scooter was lots of fun compared to a big bike. and I ditched the Honda. I wanted to be a "mod" not a "rocker". Also picked up a Lambretta "cento" along the way. Very small scooter.

I really like the Vespa P200, seems like a grew up with it. Used it to get to school, bars, girlfriends, beer, etc. Still use it for errands and going to work. Very dependable and almost ZERO maintenance. Park it in any bike rack and still go on the inter-state highway. I dont carry it on my vanagon--I have a motorcyle rack that attaches to a bumper but my MV has the cladding. BTW, this rack is like the one used on the Hot Wheels "sunagon" camper.
