Chris My 91 Transporter has a Subaru 2.7 flat six with 5 speed transaxle. Ground clearance ( measured from under Subaru headers ) is 8 inches. Has been driven on numerous car rallies in the Australian Bush, along dirt roads, across farm paddocks and dry creek beds, without mishaps. This is a 2wd vehicle. Would sent photo but Gerry strips them. Engine sits well below the engine lid. One point though, it now has 15" Mercedes wheels with Toyo Tyres. Ray Hunnam Penrith Australia
