I put a remote starter button in the engine bay which makes checking for
things like injector spray patterns and spark a breeze. It's also good
for doing compression tests without having to disable and ground the
coil (I just don't turn on the key). It also serves as a manual
equivalent of a hot start switch (relay).
Bear in mind, though, that a remote start switch such as this can be
dangerous if one isn't always making sure that the shifter is in neutral
(or park or neutral if automatic) before operating.
