For those of you in Canada, do you know that Crappy Tire offers free "loaner" tools at most of their stores? AutoZone and other stores in the US offer similar tools. Good to know when you need a specialty tool once every 2 years or so... Ctire loans many of these PowerBuilt tool kits: http://tinyurl.com/sc9zy Basically you pay for the kit and get a 100% refund when you return it. (Use a credit card, some kits are over $200!) I'm currently using a couple of these kits to change lower (not very fun) ball joints in an early Vanagon. I'll do a write up on the procedure when I'm finished. Q. has anyone tried kit 25 "648604 Upper Control Arm Bushing Service Kit" ? Does it work with Vanagon upper control arms? Removing Vanagon control arm bushings can also be a PITA. -Paul |
