It is not the same thing as you're talking about but I've always liked the black stripe at the bottom of one of the vans on go westy's website:

Though I think it might just be painted on. It strikes me as being somewhat easier to do paint touch ups on, and it breaks up the side of the van a bit which, particularily with a white AW top like my van has, seems a little like an iceburg when it drives by.
