We call our '85 Westfalia "Toaster". My sister even bought us an EU front licence plate with the name on it. I picked the name because the shape of a vanagon is so similar to a toaster plus the pop top is like a toaster popping up a piece of toast. I had second thoughts this summer when Jake (crescent beach guitar) pointed out that "toaster" is a term used to describe someone who smokes lots of dope. We have crossed the US/Canada border a few times with no problem so I don't think the name is a big problem.

When you name your van make sure you think about all the different meanings your name may have.

George, '85 Westfalia (Toaster)
