Stop! Wait. If you go direct from a BBQ tank to the stove, you'll probably
have an explosion, the pressure is about 1000 times too high. You need to
use a two-stage regulator just like the one on the van to bring the
pressure down to 11" W.C.
Also, that line is accessible from outside where it comes off the regulator
and splits to feed the two appliances. Also, you can use your existing
regulator which unscrews (left-hand) from the valve, and put a certified
Low Pressure propane hose from it to the tee fitting.
Also you can get a device called Extend-A-Stay which plumbs in btw the tank
outlet valve and regulator, and lets you draw gas from a BBQ tank in
parallel. You'd have to rearrange the piping a bit as it would add maybe
4"? to the length of the regulator.
Also, GoWesty will sell you an adapter to go from a POL fill hose to the
ACME, costs about $25 US. Of course I don't have any evidence that they
use POL fittings over there, while I have watched a Scottish taxi company
hook their regular fill hose to my Westy (wasn't mine at the time).
Finally, I don't think you have to do any of this. VWAG seemed to think in
1984 that there were various places in Europe where you could get a Westy
tank filled. I would presume there are more now, rather than less. The
Westy fitting is the same one that all RVs use (in this country). I think
it's also the same as the ones used to fill stationary LP tanks for home
heating, i.e. any LP delivery truck could fill a Westy.

And is this tank the same size as the stock Westy tank or is it smaller and
