I had read about this cracked bracket problem's over at the Samba, and had thought about this prior to making my selection of Stainless muffler's.

What I thought was very odd is that the the buyer of the muffler must take care of his own warrantee work.

This helped me make a decision on what I chose to buy very fast.

I guess what my question is, why wouldn't Frank or Stebro just send the customer an exchange muffler, and take the broken one back ? This would be a lot better for the buyer with the defective part.

I ordered the Vanagon stainless diret fit style from another vendor, that looks the same, and mounts the same as the stock muffler.

There is nothing to break off, and it's made & warrantee'd here in the US. The shipping is more resonable.
